Take It Racing 2 is a premium racing game created by indie developer Robert Doman. It is the anticipated sequel to the first Take It Racing game from the same dev. Taking cues from classic GameBoy visuals, this retro racer sim focuses more on the strategic side of races, particularly, car stats.

Similar in concept to games like Motorsports Manager or F1 Manager 2023, Take It Racing 2 takes the attention away from the driver's seat to behind-the-scenes where critical decisions happen. The game offers a demo for those who want to try it first.

You'll begin your racing career with Team Leader Rob Trader in Class D. He's one of five team leaders in the game, and there are 30 new cars across them that you can unlock and purchase as you meet each one and climb a higher class. As you win races, earn more cash that you can use to buy better vehicles for tougher challenges.

Races in Take It Racing 2 are split into multiple sections depending on how long the track is. Each poses a different challenge, such as an uphill climb that requires power, twists and turns that rely on good handling, and the like. Analyze stats and data to make wise decisions, and try your best to reduce your lap times as much as you can and reach first place.

You also need to make sure your fuel is enough and your car temperature is kept under control. Failure to do so can result in a car blowout, forcing you to retire from the race entirely. Take It Racing 2 offers a nice dose of nostalgia for gamers who grew up playing games on the legendary GameBoy with its retro visuals. The game itself is also quite engaging and requires some planning and strategy to succeed, which is great. It's a worthy sequel to Take it Racing that fans will enjoy.
